Happy Holidays and best wishes from Northwest England!
It’s the time of year when we reflect back on Christ’s “first coming.” The peace he brings is so sorely needed in our world! As a result, now more than ever we anticipate — and need — his second coming. Today we wanted to offer a Christ-centered message, one of hope. And so Vicki and I have recorded a Christmas talk / communion message. It includes a welcome, a carol in two languages, a reflection and even the Communion prayer. (Not included: bread and wine.)

TRULY EXCELLENT BOOK
At a recent conference class on the inspiration of Scripture and how to interpret it, the speaker made a strong reading recommendation. He persuaded me. Using the iPhone, I ordered it within seconds of his recommendation. It’s such an interesting, practical, and readable book, so I wanted to share it with you.
The author is Richard L. Schultz, and the book is Out of Context: How to Avoid Misinterpreting the Bible (Grand Rapids, MI: Baker, 2012).
GIFT SUBSCRIPTIONS
For a simple, inspiring, and practical Christmas present, why not get your friend or family member a website subscription? This includes discounts on books and webinars, as well as a free commentary (a $75 value).
Once you’ve purchased the subscription, an activation code will be sent. Share it—the recipient uses it to sign up for a full year of unlimited access. Group subscriptions are available. For example, last week a generous family sponsored an entire congregation in Asia. Want to help?
MERRY CHRISTMAS IN 100 LANGUAGES!
HAPPY CHRISTMAS!
Next week: What is the meaning of Immanu-el? and Six Christmas Misconceptions. Note: “Are church covenants biblical?” (guest article) — has been moved to January.
God bless and love in Christ,
