The following has been adapted from For the Record: The Foster Report, by Gary D. Foster. It appeared in the most recent bulletin (Vol 18, No 2) of the American Association of Christian Counselors (www.aacc.net), of which am a member. Every issue contains interesting and important facts pertaining to our relationships and well-being.

* Columbia University's National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse finds that teens who have dinner with their parents 3 or fewer times per week are 4x more likely to use tobacco, 2x as likely to drink, and 2.5x more likely to smoke pot as their fellows who have dinner with their parents 5-7 times a week. [CitizenLink 9/26/11]* Only 16% of churchgoers read the bible daily, and 25% do not read it at all.
* Only 7% of Christians give 10% or more of their income to the Lord's work.
* Americans now give a lower percentage of income to charity than they did during the Great Depression.
