Nomos (NO-mos) is the New Testament Greek word for law, though it occasionally means principle or reason. Nomos occurs nearly 200 times in the New Testament, and 400 times in the Greek Old Testament (the Septuagint). In the Old Testament, it normally translates Torah, the Hebrew word for teaching, law, or instruction.
The plural of nomos is nomoi (NO-moy). "The law" is ho nomos. Try to build your vocabulary of biblical words in the original languages.
