Allowing oneself to be killed is not the same as taking one's own life, if you are asking about the definition of suicide. (Suicidium is Latin for taking one's own life.) While we all share responsibility for Jesus' death, it was the Jewish leaders who organized his execution, and the Romans who technically carried out the act of his murder.
