Is it true that the book of Esther is suspect because it does not mention God?
Although the word God does not appear in the book of Esther, it is implicit in the fabric of the narrative. God is protecting his people through the courage of Esther and Mordecai; God causes the sleepless king to call for the archived record of Mordecai's service to the Persian Empire; God is the one who brings about justice for Haman and the Jewish people alike. Yes, for some the absence of the word God makes the entire book of Esther suspect. For believers, though, who through the eyes of faith are able to recognize what is really going on behind the scenes, the book is brimming over with God and his Spirit.
