I was just reading your article, "The Record," and I would like to know what books Codex U -- which is said to be housed in Venice -- includes? -- Gregory R Page (Johannesburg)
This 9th century manuscript includes the four gospels only. You will find it in the Biblioteca San Marco in Venice (Venezia). In 2001, along with a couple of leaders from a church in Munich, I had the opportunity to inspect a similar manuscript in the library of the University of Munich. It too was a Greek manuscript of the four gospels (missing only a few leaves) dating to around 900 AD. Apparently the last person to read this precious codex did so over ten years earlier!
The libraries and museums of the world are often filled with biblical treasures--unappreciated by most people, yet readily available to Christian students of the old texts and languages--for whom they are a sort of treasure trove!
