What does the Bible teach about homosexuality? I've looked at websites that denounce it, but have no scriptural backing to its talk. Can you back it with scripture?
Both Old and New Testaments indicate that homosexuality is sin. In fact, any sexual act outside of marriage (between a man and a woman -- Genesis 2:24) is against the will of God. There are many relevant passages, and you can find them in a Bible concordance, so let me just list a few: Genesis 19 (Sodom), Leviticus 18 (illicit sexual relationships), 1 Corinthians 6 (former sins of the Corinthian Christians), and 1 Timothy 1.
Homosexuality is unnatural (Romans 1 is a key passage), though it may well become "second nature" to anyone who practices it long enough. Thanks to God, thousands of men and women have left the world of homosexuality, finding forgiveness and acceptance in Christ and in his church, and made a fresh start.
Earlier this year, I was driving past a church marquee -- an outdoor bulletin board advertising services to the public. The marquee only said, "Homosexuality is a terrible sin." This message was not likely to attract seekers from a gay background, was it? It is vital that we project love and acceptance to the sinner -- while not, of course, condoning the sin. Jesus was a friend of sinners. He was scandalous by virtue of the company he was willing to keep.
My prayer would be that anyone reading my website would be willing to love homosexuals with as much sincerity as you reject homosexuality. This is the biblical balance, and we should not be ashamed of it.
