After reading over some of the questions and answers, I came across this one (Q&A 0107, on Disfellowship). Wouldn't "warranted by grave sin unrepented of" include all sin? I have come to understand that all sin is equal in the eyes of our Lord. It all leads to death, right? -- Vincent
No, I do not believe all sins are equivalent. Some sins blind the mind and heart more than others. Some have graver consequences on others. All sin is serious, and any sin qualifies as an affront to the holy God. Though I would not go so far as to construct a hierarchy of "venal and mortal sins," I do believe sin differs from sin in consequences and seriousness. Any sin one refuses to repent of is serious indeed.
