I know that you rotate your Bibles, and do not read just one translation. What Bible are you reading now, Douglas?
The new Bible I just started the other day is the New American Bible. This is not to be confused with the New American Standard Version (NAS), which, along with the NIV, I have read most frequently. The NAB is a 1970 Catholic translation--and one of the most accurate of its kind. (So far) I recommend it. I believe it is a benefit to all Bible readers to change translations now and again. English readers are more fortunate than most Bible students: they have scores of reasonable translations to pick from!
(Update [2007]): Since finishing the NAB in 2003, I have also gone through the complete NIV, NLT (3x), HCSB (4x), and NET. I especially recommend the Holman Christian Standard Bible. The New English Translation is also quite good. In addition, I read the Latin NT and went 3 more times through the entire Greek NT. Currently I am reading the ESV, or English Standard Version.)
(Update [2010]): Have finished reading through the whole Bible nearly 50 times, and continue to vary the versions. I heartily recommend this practice. Don't get stuck in a rut!
