When did you change your mind about tithing?
Tithing or (strictly speaking) giving 10% of one's gross income is commonly taught in the Christian world, though seldom practiced. I did use to teach tithing (in 1991), though after nearly a year I came to the position that the NT does not require a tithe. There is no minimum; but then there is no maximum either, a challenging point, especially for those who live in the more affluent nations of the world. In short, though our family gives more than a tithe and has always done so, I do not discourage sacrifice, though I believe the OT practice of tithing does not smoothly carry over into NT times.
