I am a disciple in Jerusalem. I study the Old Testament in university and now I'm writing a paper about the day of the Lord, based on such verses as Amos 5:18-20. I would like to know what is your understanding of it. -- Shibolit
The day of the Lord is a phrase referring to a national judgment. Sometimes this is judgment on Israel, though it is can also be a judgment on another nation. Acts 2, Pentecost, indicates such a day. This day is a judgment day, not the judgment day, though there are clear parallels.
