I came across a webpage that claims there is evidence that Jesus was in India and Tibet during part of his life. It claimed that Jesus is known there as St. Issa and is documented in Buddhist and Hindu writings and recorded by Brahman historians. I was wondering your take on this and if you have any information about the possibility of Jesus traveling to these countries. Also, do you know of any credible websites where I could find more information? -- Sharon McGrew
There is absolutely no evidence that Jesus (or Isa, as he is called in several Indian languages) ever visited Tibet or India. Any website that claimed otherwise I can guarantee you is not "credible."
Only around 35 days of Jesus' life are recorded in the Bible, but what is recorded is sufficient to convince us that--apart from refuge taken in Egypt during his infancy when Herod the Great sought to kill him--he never left Israel. The family business, not to mention the probable early death of his father, kept Jesus in Galilee all the way up to the start of his public ministry around 27 AD.
Some groups, wishing to minimize the exclusive claims of Christ and his followers, want to soften his demands by comparing and even blending the Christian faith with other religious traditions. But this will not do! Jesus alone is "the way, the truth, and the life."
