I was reading in my quiet time in Hosea 1:4 that God was going to punish Jehu for the massacre at Jezreel. Yet in 2 Kings 9 and 10, God told him to wipe out the whole house of Ahab. What did Jehu do wrong? -- Justin Renton (Capetown)
Jehu was told to eradicate the house of Ahab. Not only did he do this, but he attacked the king of Judah and killed many persons sympathetic to Ahab (and his Baal worship). Jehu may have meant well, but he apparently overstepped the bounds of his divine commission.
