Your article on the limited duration of hell was extremely beneficial to my faith; I cannot tell you what an answer to prayer it was! Since angels have free will -- hence Satan's fall -- is it possible that once in heaven we will still have free will and the option to leave God? -- Nancy Nair (Minneapolis)
My guess, which may well be flawed, is this: We will still have free will, but we won't want to misuse it. When we see the Lord as he is (1 John 3), any residual desire to rebel will disappear. Besides, once the devil is destroyed, the situation is much changed; the tempter no longer tempts. As for leaving God, where would we go?
