Which scriptures will help a believer not to become legalistic? Any help will be greatly appreciated. -- Veronica
Galatians is very much written to combat legalism. Romans also addresses the subject squarely. (Which is why Martin Luther was so enthralled in this epistle.) Philippians 3 comes to mind, as does Colossians 2. But I would not want to give you the wrong impression. Every book of the Bible, properly understood, will help the believer resist the pull of legalism. For example, try Isaiah. The truth is, God constantly repeats this important lesson in both testaments.
