I do not see the Ark of the Covenant mentioned in the Bible after the time of Solomon. What happened to it? Where might it be? Is recovering it of any importance? -- Jack Sutherland
I dunno. The Ethiopians claim they have it, but will not allow the outside world free access. I once watched a movie that had it stored in a wooden box amidst thousands of other boxes in a massive government warehouse. Anybody's guess!
2 Kings 24:13 suggests the Babylonians captured it. Remember, however, it was just a wooden box (Exodus 37:1) -- once the gold was stripped off. Maybe the wood was burned in the fires set by the armies of Nebuchadnezzar in 587 BC. Wood doesn't normally survive from antiquity anyway.
Probably the best answer is, It really doesn't matter. See Jeremiah 3:16!
