Is Mary in Luke 10:38 the same Mary who appears at the foot of the cross in Luke and John? -- Tasha
No, Mary, sister of Martha and Lazarus, is neither Mary the mother of James (Luke 24:10) and wife of Clopas (John 19:25) nor Mary Magdalene (Luke 24:10; John 19:25; 20:1, 11, 16, 18). The confusion is understandable, as there are some six different Marys in the New Testament! Sometimes it is hard to keep up with them all. (I have experienced that, too.)
