I read all your articles on baptism at the website, but ran into an anti-immersionist article on my own at another. They argued that baptein is the word for immerse/dip, not baptizein, which has a wider meaning (Luke 11:38, Mark 7:4 where it is translated "wash"). What do you think of this, and how does the word baptisma fit into the subject? Also, does Matthew 28:19 teach that the baptizee cannot be ignorant of the trinity?' -- Zach Harned

* Baptein means dip.
* Baptizein means immerse.
* As for Matthew 28, Jesus never taught one must understand the subtleties of the Trinity in order to be baptized!
