Concerning Ezekiel 8, I don't quite understand the magnitude of the sins and the hurt that God is feeling against his people. I know that he showed Ezekiel four different scenes depicting the Israelites' sins, but I don't see how this can affect the Lord so much to the point that he would harshly discipline them. What are your thoughts on this? -- Tae
The nation, led by the elders, was committing spiritual adultery. Our modern generation might applaud their "religious diversity," but the Lord knows that we will destroy our souls if we devote our hearts to anything that is not truly God.
How would you feel if your wife were devoting herself to another man, rather than to you, the one to whom she had pledged herself? That's how the Lord feels when we say we are his, but our hearts are with another god.
