I am wondering what your thoughts are about the first part of 1 John 4:12, in light of traditional Christianity's claim that Jesus was God. It says:"No one has ever seen God..."
No one has ever seen God in his pure, raw, absolute, infinite, overpowering state of existence. But we have seen God in Jesus Christ. John 14:9 teaches the same. That is the point of John 1:1,14,18. One of the major themes in John is that Jesus is God in the flesh. (For example, see 2 John 7.)
