I had a question about Hebrews 9, where the writer says the altar of incense was in the Most Holy Place. My study Bible says that the writer was trying emphasize the importance of the altar. Is that right? Not super-convincing, but the writer was obviously an expert in the Old Testament and so I'm sure he had his reasons. In Exodus 30, it seems the altar is right in front of the curtain. I guess the writer could have stated it as such since the incense was brought into the Most Holy Place. What do you think about this explanation?
It works for me! Especially because if the altar were behind the veil separating the Holy Place from the Holy of Holies, it would be inaccessible 364 days a year!
