The bowl may date to a little before the time of Christ. But even if it is from Jesus' time, and is referring to him, should we be surprised that a pagan might have approached Jesus superstitiously and tried to tap into some of his power? Consider, for instance, the exorcists of Acts 19.
At any rate, Jesus was no magician. His miracles were genuine, just as were Moses' 1300 years earlier. Moreover, they are more impressive than Moses' wonders, which confounded Pharaoh's magicians so that they could only exclaim, "This is the finger of God" (Exodus 8:19).
