It does, actually, though of course not from Exodus. The Conquest is found in the book of Joshua.
Joshua does not picture a Canaan all of whose cities were destroyed. In fact, complete destruction is related of only three cities: Jericho (Joshua 6:24), Ai (8:19, 28), and Hazor (11:11).
This means that we should expect evidence of displacement, more than of destruction, in the remaining cities. So this person's archaeology professor was not quite accurate (on two counts).
