Great question. I find open theism untenable in its position on God's knowledge of future events. I tend to side with William Lane Craig: that God's knowledge includes all future contingent propositions. That is to say, God's knowledge of what will happen takes into account my free choices.
This is just another way of affirming freewill and denying that God's foreknowledge determines what I will do. I don't do something because God foresees it. Instead, it means that God is aware of what I will freely chose to do. Were I to choose to do something different, God would have known that fact instead.
